This year’s the Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit, “Doing Business in Turbulent Times,” will emphasize the creation of innovative solutions for today’s challenges, such as energy insecurity, global warming, the need for clean energy, and the emergence of new conflicts and non-state actors. Participants will discuss the future of energy technologies and energy infrastructure finance. Speakers will include US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz, Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, several heads of state, and more than 20 energy or economy ministers. They will join 300 other opinion leaders from politics, media, academia, and the corporate world.

Held on 15 October 2014, in Istanbul, The event focused on debates concerning the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) – its contribution to European energy security, risks to its progression, the status of the Azerbaijan driven TANAP, and the possibility of new gas sources joining the corridor. The event was sponsored by BP Turkey, held in academic partnership with the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University, and supported by the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
